He is survived by his daughters, Christine Carpenter (Erik Cade) of Rutland, Kimberly Youkstetter (Karl) of Shrewsbury, and Sarah Holland (Richard); his sons, Caleb Carpenter of Tucson, Arizona, and Seth Carpenter of Henderson, North Carolina; his brother, Dr. Tristram Carpenter (Jean) of Norfolk, Massachusetts; eight granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. A visitation is scheduled for Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, followed by a service at 3 p.m. at the same location. Roger A. Berard, 93, of Boylston, died Thursday, October 1, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Pauline R. (Harper) Berard and was born and raised in Worcester. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Miles-Sterling Funeral & Tribute Center, followed by a funeral Mass on Friday, October 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Hills Church in Boylston and burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Boylston. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research, or to a charity of the donor's choice, per the family's wishes.
